Pukerau is a magnificent 361 hectare fattening unit near Morrinsville and enroute to Cambridge. This is the drystock portion of Whakanui Farms operation. The spectacular views, great balance of contour, reserve areas, native bush, hideaway retreat and so much more make this a must have investment.
Currently running 800 beef heifers and steers with a further 264 calves from November to May with a contract to supply high quality fat cattle to Countdown speaks volumes.
The contour is a good mix of gentle rolling to medium hill with some areas a little steeper. Most steep terrain is fenced with bush lots or new plantings of gums and manuka with honey bees as a future option.
The set up on the property cannot be faulted with an excellent all weather laneway and well-formed tracks to all areas of the property. Centrally located is the hub with a large 5 bay (12x24m) fully enclosed high stud steel portal shed with concrete floor. It has two large roller doors for easy access, workshop, smoko room with running water, drying cupboard, chiller room and mezzanine viewing area. Adjacent to this shed is a top class set of cattle yards with fully concreted floors, Cattlemaster crush and weigh platform under cover with adjacent holding paddocks - a raised load out race is part of this set-up. Nearby is a 6 bay gable shed, with power, used for sheep handling/calf rearing and drench facilities for smaller cattle.

At the southern corner of the property is a large pond which is fenced from stock and a pump sources water and feeds to a number of adjacent paddocks. The pond is a feature with plantings around a sheltered and private position for ducks.
The main water system has a spring as its source then pumped via a water ram to manacon tanks and gravity around the farm with a reticulated system and troughs in all paddocks.
